The Botanical Garden spread over 10.5 acres of land is being maintained by the Deptt. of Botany and Plant Physiology withrich collection of indigenous and exotic plant species. The plant biodiversity includes nearly 550 species including their variants. This biodiversity is source of academic research and point of attraction for the visitors from all over Haryana. Large number of schools and college students are visiting the Botanical Garden every year and are being properly acquainted with the plant biodiversity by eminent professors and scientists of the Deptt. of Botany and Plant Physiology. Many renowned personalities of Haryana and government officials are visitors of the garden. Garden holds Chrysanthemum show annually, which attracts approximately 10,000 visitors in two days and sale of approx. one lakh rupees of chrysanthemum flowers. This show is open to public for participation in different competitive categories like potted chrysanthemums standard (one large flower, many large flowers) as well as spray (small flower) types, potted foliage plants, potted palms, potted cacti and succulents, potted marigold, fresh flower arrangements etc. In addition to these competitive categories, on-the-spot drawing and painting competition, mehndi-rachao contest and rangoli competition for different age groups of school and college students are organized. This highly popular annual event show is anxiously awaited and has attained high popularity among local masses.
Work to develop a Bamboosetum with seven species from Pantnagar have been initiated and are collecting more number from other areas. This garden also has a nursery which caters the need of people around the Hisar city and Haryana who are looking for disease free plants. At present garden is equipped with two glass houses, five ponds and one green house.
