Youth Red Cross

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) was established in 1920 under the Indian Red Cross Society Act and incorporated under Parliament Act XV of 1920. The Act was last amended in 1992 and rules were framed in 1994. It is a voluntary humanitarian organization having a network of over 700 branches throughout India providing relief in times of disaster/emergencies and promoting health and care to the vulnerable sections of societies and communities. The IRCS is a leading member of the largest independent humanitarian organization in the world, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

CCS Haryana Agricultural University also set up the Youth Red Cross Society in its constituent Colleges. Its primary aim is to develop among the students the spirit of humanitarian and social service through active and direct involvement in Red Cross activities. The students in the Colleges are encouraged to become members and faculties are recognized as Counsellors and Programme Officers of YRC.

Objectives: The main objective of Youth Red Cross, CCS HAU Hisar is as follows: 

  1. To inculcate in the      Youth an awareness on the care of their own health and that of others.
  2. To inculcate the      understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting      accordingly with humanitarian concern.
  3. To enable the      growth and development of a spirit of service and sense of duty with      dedication and devotion in the minds of youths.

To maintain a spirit of friendly relationship with all people over the world without any discrimination.
