Research
The department of Agronomy is actively engaged in conducting problem-oriented research on agronomy of different field crops in Haryana state and is responsible for perfecting production technologies of these crops, effective weed control and developing suitable cropping and farming systems. It has well established and equipped research farms and laboratories for conducting research on crop Physiology, weed management, Brackish Water Management, Cropping Systems and Farming Systems, Dryland Agriculture, Vermiculture, Drought resistance besides agronomists working in various All India Coordinated Projects on field crops. On the basis of research work done in department during the last 35 years, improved technologies for field crops have been recommended for different zones of the State. The department was wholly responsible for generating production technologies and irrigation schedules for important crops like wheat, barley, rapeseed and mustard, pulses and forage crops, etc. till early 70's when there was no post of Agronomist in ICAR coordinated projects. These production technologies had been included in the University package of practices.

Research farm and field laboratories
- Agronomy Research farm: About 24 hectares of well established research farm having all the facilities for conducting field experiments on all agronomical aspects. At the research farm we have one laboratory, implement set, store, one screen house and one vermicompost unit.
- Crop Physiology research farm: About two hectares of land with a laboratory, sand filled micro plots and rain shelter facilities for carrying out research on crop physiology.
- Students' farm: Well established students' farm for carrying practical crop production, practicals for UG and PG students with canal and tubewell source of irrigation.
